"Our twice weekly journeys in August from Ormskirk for rehearsals in Bolton are well rewarded by the friendly group of singers, the wonderful music making and the learning process with John Powell. It is hard work but well worth the effort as we also have fun along the way to producing excellent performances."

"The 2008 concert was my first time with the Festival Choir. It was recommended to me by members of the University of Bolton Choir and I’m so glad I joined. The members of the choir are friendly, and the music and singing are wonderful."

"We sing with Bury Choral Society and, as their last concert of the season is in May, we take the opportunity that the Festival Choir offers for singing in the summer."
Maureen has been singing with the choir for the last 7 years, but this is the first year for Freda who met up with an old school friend from Scotland who suggested she’d enjoy it.

Peter has been singing with the Festival Choir since its creation in 1994. "I usually sing in small chamber choirs and enjoy the Festival Choir’s larger scale works. It’s good to have a choir dedicated to singing in Bolton for the Festival."

"The intense rehearsal schedule with a concert after three weeks is very different from a normal choral society and I learn a lot about singing from the conductor. It’s hard work but a treat, and great to sing in the Parish Church."

Sarah’s first concert with the Bolton Festival Choir was in 2008. She also sings with the Halle Youth Choir and is most likely the youngest member of the choir.
